What does A1 offer you?
Mit A1 darfst du Leichtkrafträder innerhalb dieser Grenzen fahren:
- Hubraum: höchstens 125 cm³
- Leistung: höchstens 11 kW
- Leistungsgewicht: höchstens 0,1 kW/kg
- Mindestalter: 16 Jahre
Zur A1-Ausbildung beim Ersterwerb gehören:
- Theorie
zwölf Doppelstunden Grundstoff und vier Doppelstunden motorradspezifischer Zusatzstoff.
- Praxis
praktische Grundausbildung und vorgeschriebene Sonderfahrten.
- Prüfung
Theorie- und Praxisprüfung.

What changes with A2?
Für Motorräder der Klasse A2 gelten diese Grenzen:
- Leistung: höchstens 35 kW
- Leistungsgewicht: höchstens 0,2 kW/kg
- Ausgangsleistung: Das Motorrad darf nicht von einem Modell mit mehr als 70 kW abgeleitet sein.
Der Einstieg ist ab 18 möglich. Mit mindestens zwei Jahren A1 kommt der Stufenaufstieg infrage.
No power limit
When can you start in category A?
Klasse A ist die unbeschränkte Motorradklasse. Für Krafträder gibt es diese Einstiegsmöglichkeiten:
- Direkteinstieg: ab 24 Jahren
- Stufenaufstieg: ab 20 Jahren mit mindestens zweijährigem Vorbesitz der Klasse A2

How do you learn to ride safely?
We discuss your previous experience, choose a suitable training bike and build up the exercises step by step. Vehicle control, where to look, braking and cornering prepare you for road traffic.

Your instructor accompanies you on a motorcycle. Our motorcycle instructors ride with passion themselves and pass on what really matters when riding.

We have different motorcycle sizes and seat heights. Together we see which training bike you get on well with.

Practising with a plan
After the lessons we discuss what already works reliably and what you practise next. How long you need depends on your time, your learning progress and how much support you need.
When you obtain a motorcycle category directly for the first time, twelve special drives (Sonderfahrten) are usually part of the training alongside the individual basic training:
- five overland drives of 45 minutes each
- four motorway drives of 45 minutes each
- three night drives of 45 minutes each
With progressive access or another licence you already hold, the theory and the mandatory drives may be reduced or may not apply at all. We look at your situation and explain exactly what applies to you.

Moving up a category
When is the practical test enough?
Diese beiden Stufenaufstiege sind mit einer praktischen Prüfung möglich:
- A1 → A2: wenn du A1 seit mindestens zwei Jahren besitzt.
- A2 → A: wenn du A2 seit mindestens zwei Jahren besitzt.
In diesen Fällen sind keine erneute Theorieprüfung und keine fest vorgeschriebene Ausbildung nötig. Wie viel Vorbereitung sinnvoll ist, besprechen wir anhand deines Fahrstands. Ein neuer Antrag und die praktische Prüfung bleiben erforderlich.
Bei kürzerem Vorbesitz oder einem anderen Ausbildungsweg gelten andere Anforderungen. B196 eröffnet keinen Stufenaufstieg von A1 aus, weil es keine Fahrerlaubnis der Klasse A1 ist.

Is my previous riding experience enough for moving up a category?
There is no general answer. We discuss your riding level and the sensible preparation for the practical test.
No test
This is how you obtain B196
B196 extends your category B to certain 125cc motorcycles in Germany. You take part in a driver training course; no additional theory or practical licence test is provided.

- Klasse B seit mindestens fünf Jahren
Nach Eintragung darfst du in Deutschland Krafträder bis 125 cm³, höchstens 11 kW und maximal 0,1 kW/kg fahren. B196 ist keine Fahrerlaubnis der Klasse A1.

When may you set off?
- Eintragung abwarten
Erst mit eingetragener Schlüsselzahl darfst du die B196-Berechtigung nutzen.
- Frist beachten
Zwischen Schulungsabschluss und Eintragung darf höchstens ein Jahr liegen.
- Frühzeitig beantragen
Allein die Abgabe der Bescheinigung innerhalb eines Jahres genügt nicht.
